Yoga Classes Our yoga classes are designed to help:                               Improve strength and flexibility                              Reduce muscle tension                              Ease joint stiffness                              Manage stress    Our yoga classes are offered in various levels to accommodate beginners, seniors, those recovering from injury, as well as the advanced student.    The design of these classes allow for individualized instruction to ensure that each participant is performing the postures safely and effectively. Time for questions and discussion will be a part of each class. Offered in Various Levels Gentle/Restorative Yoga   This 60-min. class is ideal for students who are new to yoga or who wish to move gently. The class format includes gentle full body stretching, basic yoga postures and relaxation.  Instructions encourage participants to move at their own pace with an attitude of awareness and self-acceptance. This class involves basic postures which can be done either sitting on a chair or holding onto a chair. Each class also includes Restorative Yoga postures which involves guiding participants through passive yoga postures supported with soft props. Less emphasis is placed on stretching and more on releasing tension. This class is great for seniors and those living with chronic pain or illness. Chair Yoga Class:  This 45-minute gentle class is geared to those who are uncomfortable with getting up and down from the floor. Involves instruction in basic yoga postures done seated in or holding onto a chair. Variations will be shown to accommodate individual needs and abilities. Yoga Stretch Class:  This 60-minute class involves instruction in basic yoga postures both standing and on the floor. Emphasis is on correct alignment and stretching. The class concludes with a guided meditation. Variations are shown for those with back, neck, knee and other injuries as well as variations for the intermediate yoga student. This class is ideal for those looking for a more relaxing yoga/stretch class. Beach Yoga: (Seasonal)   Same as our Yoga Stretch class but held outside on the beach. Bring a beach towel and meet at the studio at least 10 minutes prior to the start of class. Class will be held indoors in inclement weather. Yoga Flow This 75-minute class offers instruction in Salutation to the Sun as well as standing and floor based Hatha Yoga postures that flow continuously from one to the other. Designed to help build strength and improve balance. Variations will be shown to accommodate various levels. This class is ideal for those looking for a more active yoga and stretch class. Flowing Yoga-Pilates Combo ClassThis 90-min intermediate level class is for those who are familiar with Hatha yoga postures and have currently been practicing yoga for at least 2 years. It incorporates multiple rounds of salutation to the sun and a variety of Hatha yoga postures. The yoga flow helps build strength and increase flexibility. The Pilates section of the class is for those who are new to Pilates or those who would like instruction in tailoring the Pilates method to their individual needs. The class concludes with gentle full body yoga based stretching and a guided meditation/relaxation session.
