Senior Exercise Classes


Chair Exercise Class at the Montauk Senior Nutrition Center 
 This 45-minute class is specifically designed for those over 65. The class  includes instruction in gentle aerobic exercise done seated in a chair.  Also included are strength training exercises with or without light hand weights.    The class concludes with instruction in a seated gentle yoga segment to help improve flexibility and range of motion.    Variations on all movements will be shown to accommodate a variety of abilities. This class is offered free of charge for Montauk Senior Nutrition Center members. 
It meets at the Montauk Playhouse on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:15-12:00. 
You must be coming for lunch at least one day per week to qualify for this program. Lunch is served Monday through Friday at 12:00 for a $2 charge.

Senior Exercise Classes at the Living Well Studio   Living Well Yoga and Fitness will also be offering the following classes at the studio in downtown Montauk geared to those over 65. 
Low/No Impact Aerobics:Mondays & Wednesdays 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.This 45-minute class is geared to those over 65 and offers a low impact aerobic workout. Includes a 15-20 minute choreographed low impact aerobic segment with no jumping or jogging and a full body strength training and stretching routine with hand weights and tubing. All exercises can be done seated in or holding on to a chair of needed. Cost $25/month for all 8 classes. We do not offer one day or drop in options. 
Chair Yoga:Fridays 9:00 a.m. -10:00 a.m.This gentle 45-minute class is for those who are uncomfortable with floor exercises. Participants will be led through a series of basic Hatha yoga postures that are done while seated in or holding onto a chair. This class helps to improve flexibility and balance. Concludes with a guided meditation.Cost: $10/month for all 4 classes. 
Take both classes for $30 per month for all 12 classes.
