This 60-minute class is specifically designed for those with Fibromyalgia, arthritis, chronic joint pain, and related conditions. The class includes instruction in gentle aerobic exercise done seated in a chair or on large physioballs, to help take pressure off of the joints. Also included are strength training exercises which can be done standing or seated in a chair. This portion of the class utilizes light hand and ankle weights, weighted medicine balls, theraband and small physioballs. The class concludes with instruction in gentle yoga and breathwork to help improve flexibility and range of motion and a guided meditation and relaxation session. Both yoga and meditation have been found to be beneficial in helping to manage the fatigue and other symptoms associated with these conditions. Variations on all movements will be shown to accommodate a variety of abilities.
